The Achievement System Information - 19 February 2025
Volver a la página de inicioThe Achievements system is the main feature of this update. Whether you're a beginner or a veteran (who beat the game 10 times and completed Frigost before it was even released), you won't be able to miss it.
Achievements correspond to objectives to achieve in the game. They allow you to track your progress (game completion) and enjoy new challenges
OBJECTIVES
The idea is not to be a purely honorific system; the Achievement will also serve the following objectives:
• Provide a feature accessible to all players: from level 1 to 200, alone or with others, and in almost all game activities. Achievements will be available for all player profiles.
• Provide an alternative means of progression: offering, among other things, rewards in Kamas, experience and resources. Achievements will allow characters to progress in a fun way.
• Guide the player and give them concrete objectives: Achievements can be considered as missions to complete, they will be accessible in a dedicated interface and will be classified by area or difficulty.
• Promote the diversification of activities: Achievements will target almost all game content and will encourage players to discover ignored, forgotten or unknown content. Conquests will also encourage players to focus on a variety of activities, rather than systematically repeating the same things (e.g. farming monsters or dungeons). Subscribed content and old content should gain new interest thanks to Conquests.
• Prize difficulty, challenge and risk-taking: certain Conquests require a lot of organization, training and discipline. Players will be rewarded for this investment.
• Establish a global merit-based mechanic: by valuing risk-taking, knowledge and overall control of the game (its areas, its monsters, its quests, its professions, etc.), we will be able to more easily distribute rewards progressively based on merit.
HOW IT WORKS
Conquests work quite simply, they are all grouped together in a single interface and classified by categories (professions, exploration, quests, dungeons, etc.).
The details of an Achievement then allow you to know the goals required and the rewards to be obtained. A search system allows you to quickly find the Achievement. When an achievement is unlocked (completed), you will receive an in-game notification (using the recent alert system) informing you that you have earned an Achievement. Main difficulty levels for Achievements: • Discovery achievements: these are a minority and offer small rewards. They mainly concern the first use of a feature, such as destroying an object. • Natural achievements: those that can be achieved by playing "normally", without making any particular effort (leveling up, defeating monsters, discovering an area, etc.). • Heroic achievements: these are those that require a particular investment and effort (defeating Boss N with 2 characters, for example). • Goal achievements: these are those that will reward the success of a set of Achievements (completing all the quests in an area, or discovering all the areas of the game, for example). Goal Achievements can be easy (the easiest Achievements are grouped together) or difficult (the most difficult Achievements are grouped together). They usually require a lot of dedication and a good command of certain specific game content.
Achievements cover the following content:
• Dungeons (defeating the Boss in different ways, etc.).
• Exploration (discovering areas).
• Monsters (facing monster families, Dopples, completing challenges, etc.).
• Quests (finishing quests and questlines, etc.).
• Crafting (getting certain mounts to hatch, etc.).
• Professions (crafting items, reaching a certain level in a profession, etc.).
• Events (completing the content of Kwismas Island, Vulkania, etc.).
Achievements are not generated at the account level (without globalization between all the Achievements of the characters on the same account), but only on a character-by-character basis. I made this choice for technical reasons, as centralized management of Achievements at account level would require considerable development.
Achievements therefore allow us to increase the longevity of current content and offer new challenges to players who feel like they have already achieved everything or who feel that the game is too easy and does not offer enough challenges and difficulties. They also allow us, thanks to the different types of progression, to find out which content has been accidentally forgotten and can still be found!
THE REWARDS
Achievements will allow you to obtain 5 main types of different rewards:
• Experience: generally indexed to the character level and the difficulty of the Achievement;
• Kamas: fixed amount that will depend on the difficulty of the Achievement;
• Resources: Achievements involving monsters or Bosses will allow you to recover resources from linked monsters and Bosses.
• Titles: some titles will be available in the Achievement goals. • Ornaments: Cosmetic reward that allows you to customize the appearance of your character’s name
